Product Introduction
● The new energy conversion system, based on a four-quadrant converter with controllable AC and DC sides, enables bidirectional conversion between AC and DC power. The system primarily consists of an AC/DC and a DC/AC bidirectional converter, as well as a control unit.
● For the entire system, Changsha Kotuo uses either Weidu TS8/VX25 enclosures or custom-designed enclosure bodies. These enclosures feature high structural strength and exceptional reliability, with an ingress protection rating of up to IP55. They offer outstanding performance in terms of waterproofing, dustproofing (including resistance to windblown sand), shock resistance, UV resistance, corrosion resistance, and weather resistance, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments.
● The AC-side voltage ranges from AC 380V to AC 1140V, with a rated frequency of 50Hz/60Hz; the DC-side voltage ranges from DC 500V to DC 1500V.
● The system generally consists of three main components: the incoming switchgear, the grid-side converter cabinet, and the machine-side converter cabinet. The key components housed within these cabinets include inverters (Vacon by Weichai, Farwide by Hongyuan), frame-type/molded-case circuit breakers, LCL filters, temperature-control circuits, braking circuits, and Kete intelligent controllers, among others.
● The grid-side converter typically operates in current-control mode. By precisely controlling the current flowing through the grid-side converter, rapid energy storage and release can be achieved. Moreover, leveraging the back-to-back converter’s characteristics allows bidirectional power flow, further enhancing the system’s flexibility and efficiency.
● The grid-side converter typically operates in voltage-control mode. By effectively controlling the voltage of the grid-side converter, it can ensure efficient power injection into the grid while maintaining the stable operation of the AC grid. Moreover, through grid-connection control strategies, it is possible to achieve coordinated operation between mechanical energy storage systems and the power grid.
Product Features
● The new energy converter system employs liquid-cooling technology, featuring a compact structure and high power density. It does not require air exchange with the external environment, boasts excellent heat dissipation performance, and can ensure long-term, trouble-free operation even in harsh environments.
● The customized cabinets feature a high-strength structural design and optimized thermal insulation, offering resistance to ultraviolet radiation, aging, and weather conditions such as wind and rain, making them highly adaptable to various environments.
● The converter employs DTC direct torque control or flux vector control technology, enabling it to respond rapidly to changes in load or control commands and accurately regulate the speed of the energy storage mechanical device as well as the voltage fed back into the power grid.
● The voltage-source and current-source modes can be flexibly switched to enable bidirectional power flow. The parallel operation of multiple units with constant-voltage source output capability ensures a stable DC voltage output.
● The dual three-phase phase-shifted 30° permanent magnet synchronous motor control technology enables precise control of six-phase motors, featuring low current harmonics, small torque ripple, and strong fault tolerance.
● The equipment control system features both standalone mode and multi-device networked mode. With a compact system architecture and comprehensive functionality, it can be flexibly configured according to the size of the project load. It enables independent control of a single device as well as large-scale operation of energy storage stations through mass production of multiple devices.
